ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Minyi Tan and I’m an illustrator based in New York City. I recently earned my BFA in Communication Design from Pratt Institute, where I focused on narrative illustration and picture book storytelling.

I really enjoy useing both traditional and digital media. I often use soft colors, decorative lines, and emotional composition to create storytelling illustration. I’m especially drawn to adapting classic literature and folktales through a poetic and visual lens.

When I’m not drawing, I love reading, sewing, and cooking comfort food. I’m currently seeking opportunities in children’s publishing and visual storytelling.

1.  Bombas Brand Expression

A brand initiation story...

Offer new, clean clothes to everyone who needs them!
For every pair of socks sold, Bombas donates a pair to those in need, addressing the often overlooked necessity of socks in homeless shelters.
What we can do next...

To further reinforce a sense of care, trust, and shared humanity within each purchase, I designed a post-purchase message feature that allows consumers to communicate directly with the person receiving the donated item. Unlike traditional gift messages meant for friends or family, these messages are printed on the donated products themselves. This thoughtful touch helps consumers clearly understand the impact of their purchase, fostering empathy and connection while reinforcing that their contribution is meaningful and dependable. By embedding this interaction into the product experience, Bombas consistently upholds its values of caring for others, building trust through transparency, and creating an inclusive community where everyone is part of the same story.
